Learn About The Scarlet Ibis
The scarlet ibis (Eudocimus ruber) is a species of ibis in the bird family Threskiornithidae. It inhabits tropical South America and islands of the Caribbean. In form it resembles most of the other twenty-seven extant species of ibis, but its remarkably brilliant scarlet coloration makes it unmistakable. It is one of the two national birds of Trinidad and Tobago.

Swans love for their partners is so deeply that they usually mate for life. “Divorce” does, however, sometimes occur, particularly following nesting failure, and if a mate dies, the remaining swan will take up with another. The “divorce rate” is estimated to be about 6%.
Covid Student Special
Don't miss out on our COVID student special, we are running this special during August 2020. Children aged 3 to 18 may visit any of our 3 Plettenberg Bay sanctuaries for R100. If they visit two of our 3 sanctuaries they pay R130, and if they visit all 3 they pay R165. As per usual children younger than 3 don't pay to visit us, they simply join for free.

Every Tuesday we run a pensioner special where pensioners may visit our sanctuaries and pay only half price.
Birds Of Eden Is Re-opening The 1st Of July 2020
The good news is that the Birds of Eden hiking trail will be opening Wednesday the 1st of July 2020. Just remember to wear your mask for the duration of your visit to Birds of Eden. Our opening times will be a bit different; we will allow hiking at Birds of Eden from 9am to 4pm daily. Our 'venue' will close - strictly - at 5pm. #TheBirdsOfEdenHikingTrail #SAASAvisit #SeeYouSoon
